Before issued the licence must give proper knowledge about the rules & regulation and condition of the vehicle. The other thing better introduce the traffic point system, and the Fine system. Then we can see mannerly driving and less accident .Most of other countries followed traffic point and the fine strictly.

How can the Lorry carrying four person ? what is the duty of traffic police at the express way entry points.
All the time they sit and wait..
Authority should take immediate steps to make sure the correct number of allowed people are travelling and specially the condition of the vehicles.
This will save the life and safety of the other users.

probably due to having rebuilt wheel. they are not allowed in other countries. we are going through a learning curve here. vehicles with rebuilt tires should not be allowed as it will not only put the vehicle in danger, but also other unsuspecting vehicles, both oncoming and following vehicles. imagine pile up on both directions. its a possibility just because of just one rebuilt wheel. lets learn from each mishap.

Well strict rules must be in place to avoid such mishaps in the future. For example to travel at such speed limits the vehicles must be road worthy and in good condition...? since our people are not exposed to road manners, like in the affluent countries that do have such modern facilities programmes on TV, radio etc must educate the common man of such.......Driving codes are found wanting in our country. Majority of our drivers, commuters, pedestrians all need to be educated and warned using media and other ways of communication.......With the god work of development taking place in SL the personality of man also need to be developed.........

Proper road worthy vehicles must be used at all time on highways such as this. Don't use the highway to save money sacrificing safety. Feel sorry for the victims.
Kamini Tuesday, 06 March 2012 11:24 AM
Thought lorries were not allowed on the Expressway.
