SLC said that they will not talk to players again. Why are they using you for that. Probably you will be the Captain of the Sri Lankan team playing with Bangladesh

A Cricketers Life Is Short, Where As A Politicians Make Money Till Their Last Breath. And That Also Un Declared Money

Lucky Weeramantry Monday, 04 March 2013 09:37 AM

The Public Pays Money To See The Cricketers Not These Political Madman. It Doesn't Matter The Money They Earn Playing Cricket.

peeda mossa Sunday, 03 March 2013 03:45 PM

Lal, some of the conditions are not justifiable but some are. For example, if a series coincide with the IPL, and if our cricketers refuse to do national duty, should they be paid their wages for that period ? In my humble opinion, certainly not.

Jagath Leanage Sunday, 03 March 2013 03:38 PM

We knew, when a Politician taken over the control of Cricket selection, these type of thing will be obvious.

    MagodisThuma Sunday, 03 March 2013 01:59 PM

    Sana...Sana...Yes...Papa ! ...Eating Cricket....? No...Papa !

    Sampath Sunday, 03 March 2013 01:42 PM

Sanath, You are the main cause for all these problems so there is nothing that you can do to resolve this issue.

    Up Sunday, 03 March 2013 12:35 PM

We can send the cricket team played at Dambana for Bangladesh tour.

    Priyantha Sunday, 03 March 2013 12:38 PM

    forget it ...don't bend...

are they playing for Money or Country ? don't give anything thing extra

go ahead with brand new team

    SL_EXPATS Sunday, 03 March 2013 11:43 AM

I think PUSS coming out of the pitch now. ...

    SL_EXPATS Sunday, 03 March 2013 11:43 AM

I think instead of PUSS (mud) coming out of the pitch, revenge started to come out...

    shihan Sunday, 03 March 2013 11:19 AM

Now you can get back in the team
    sana.

    Raj Sunday, 03 March 2013 11:11 AM

    Kane, well said

    MH Sunday, 03 March 2013 11:05 AM

Sana play straight and do not include players who refuse to sign so you have no problems in the future.Once you refuse they will come behind.

    Lobo Sunday, 03 March 2013 11:01 AM

politicians have no conscience, morals or ethics. The players need not stoop to such levels.

    bigsam Sunday, 03 March 2013 10:02 AM

Rama, whydont you also take a 25% paycut and donate that to the country?

    Elakiri Sunday, 03 March 2013 12:00 AM

Bring Mervyn Silva also... via DM Android App

    Mithraya Sunday, 03 March 2013 09:41 AM

If SLC can spend money to build stadiums to please politicians and pay their friends to watch matches abroad , why cant they give 25% of there revenue from ICC events to the players. What is the Moral right of the Secretary who also is a CEO of media company to bid and gain contracts from SLC.

    ranjan7 Sunday, 03 March 2013 09:37 AM

Sanath now noone has respect for you. U were not up to the standard of the present team and u wer dropped and now due to political affiliations u are powerful but no one has aany respect for you. Fans seem to know a lot about your personal life.

    Lal Sunday, 03 March 2013 09:36 AM

Do not come up with idiotic comments without analysing the situation properly. It is the cricketers who earn money for the SL Cricket, not the corrupt administrators who spent and enjoy lavishly with this money. Why they need to cut down the benefits that cricketers have been enjoying since 2003. Let the administrators and politicians associated with SL Cricket stop swindling, wasteful spending and cheating without cutting down the Cricketers benefits

    ramesi Sunday, 03 March 2013 09:20 AM

They have to think both ways when our politicians can do why not they

    Jagath Sunday, 03 March 2013 09:19 AM

This is rediculous given that now the players are asked to give their earnings to cover up what all SLC officials' corruptions in the past. The 25% mentioned was given to players since 2003, then why not now? Also, no Sri Lankan matches during IPL (that has nothing to do with players, thats decided by the board), then, why the players playing in the IPL are not paid? Its like a someoen doing consultant works out of his office hours are not paid by his regular company, how stupid that is?

    Sareek Sunday, 03 March 2013 09:14 AM

Sanath =I thing Ithing I thinggggggggggggg

    MountainLion Sunday, 03 March 2013 09:08 AM

Typical Sri Lanka culture. Nothing is organized.

    Kane Sunday, 03 March 2013 09:10 AM

When the government would not think of the country, the SLC administrators do not think of the country, we as voters do not think of the country, how can you expect only the cricketers to think of the country.

    jiji Sunday, 03 March 2013 09:02 AM

Stop being so cynical ppl. This is an individual who has brought lanka more glory than any player in the current line up. He deserves an oppurtunity and is making good progress currently. Sanga was the only one amongst the 23 players to not sign the contract and hence was dropped. First they complain about players playing in the IPl, now they complain about restricting them :D

Janaki Kalansuriya Sunday, 03 March 2013 09:06 AM

Sanath. You lost all credibility the day you decided to play politics abandoning Cricket. You cannot resurrect SLC. Get on with your love life, that would be a better investment for us all.

    Chams Sunday, 03 March 2013 08:54 AM

What has he got to do with the contracts and dispute over contract.
He is only the chief selector who is supposed to select a team out of available players. So, it makes very clear that this guy is not only chief selector but someone beyond that. Who exactly, we will know in the near future.

    firefox Sunday, 03 March 2013 08:49 AM

This guys is been paid by the tax payers to represent the people from down south at parliament. But his time is spent on IPL, cricket commentary, acting and now running slc. while enjoying all the perks of a MP.

    Rama Sunday, 03 March 2013 08:43 AM

If the Sri Lankan cricketers will think abo the country they will accept, if they think abo money they will not accept.

suppose if they didnt accept no issues as the way Sri Lanka Development Emerging Team playing against banga currently, they ar better than the current SL team.

Pls dont accept the offer, play IPL

    SL_EXPATS Sunday, 03 March 2013 08:28 AM

Hmm, now the real political trump start to work, good luck4 every1
