Russian artifact hunters nabbed

Three Russian nationals who were searching for ancient artifacts illegally using metal detectors in the Abhayagiriya archeological site in Anuradhapura were taken into custody by the police. The suspects have reportedly dug holes in the archeological site in their search for artifacts.

The Russian Embassy in Sri Lanka was notified about the activities of the three suspects and their arrest by the authorities. (Athula Bandara)
