Indian Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao visited the Internally Displaced People (IDP) in Vavuniya this morning and looked into their welfare.
The Foreign Secretary, who arrived in Sri Lanak yesterday on a short visit, flew to the Wanni security forces headquarters today and traveled by land to the IDP camps.
She visited the Chetikulam Menik Farm IDP camp and later headed for a meeting with the Vavuniya Government Agent.
The Foreign Secretary is scheduled to inspect de-mining programs in the north before heading for Jaffna. (Daily Mirror online)
