There has never been a Leader of UNP like this in the entire history of the party.
Geronimo Tuesday, 10 August 2010 02:34 PM
Poor Ranil is a glutton for punishment. This round will see a couple more frogs jumping to the other side. MR needs only 5 more frogs for his 2/3 and that is all he is interested in. And as usual Ranil obliges. What an idiot.
SW Tuesday, 10 August 2010 02:24 PM
This country deserves better leaders
MaPer Tuesday, 10 August 2010 01:04 PM
Both are vying for the Nobel Peace Prize.
srilankan Tuesday, 10 August 2010 01:01 PM
How can you call Ranil is a leader of UNP? This man is trying to play a double game.
Watchman Tuesday, 10 August 2010 10:33 AM
At the rate Ranil is loosiing his party members after talks with MR, there will be a date he can agree to any thing with MR because at that time only will be in the party.
R.Dias Tuesday, 10 August 2010 10:10 AM
Both RW & MR now are nothing but spent forces in the eyes of International Community and we as a Country are fast getting isolated. The Country depserately is in need of a real CHANGE
Musthafa Tuesday, 10 August 2010 09:59 AM
After 2 MPs joined with Goverment , Mr. Ranil stated UNP never talk with MR, what happand now??????
Senior Citizen Tuesday, 10 August 2010 09:43 AM
Why - he has still not explained his financial dealings exposed by media. So what is good.
Senior Citizen Tuesday, 10 August 2010 09:41 AM
At least that will help the UNP to reform - please go soon.
Ranjit Tuesday, 10 August 2010 09:37 AM
Ranil is an invertebrate. Both Ranil and MR have a common agenda to prevent Sajith getting the UNP leadership. MR who has more political instinct than Ranil and is more concerned about it.
AJ - Colombo Tuesday, 10 August 2010 09:30 AM
I think this is the first time in SL history that a President's existence is solely on the opposition leader
Appuhami Tuesday, 10 August 2010 09:07 AM
wake up UNPers!!! enough is enough
I Hussein Tuesday, 10 August 2010 09:07 AM
Its obvious that MR needs Ranil for his survival whatever big talks that he delivers. But Ranil must take into account that UNP members do not want him to be so close to MR. MR is shrewed to cut grass under your feet Mr. RW. Better keep him away.
Karthik Tuesday, 10 August 2010 08:53 AM
Nothing will change. Only person who can make the change is SF
Gayan Samarasekara Tuesday, 10 August 2010 05:45 AM
Though democracy stands in Ranil's mind, we wonder whether it is correctly practiced by the other parties. The reformation for my understanding is only to keep the political power with Rajapaksha
Kumar Wijayasekara Tuesday, 10 August 2010 08:13 AM
Changes to the constiutution of the country is not a subject that should be discussed in private by these so called leaders.
Ruwan Tuesday, 10 August 2010 07:34 AM
Ranil is a very good person but a very weak leader.
Yehiya-Doha Tuesday, 10 August 2010 07:26 AM
Last period of leadership
Ranjana Tuesday, 10 August 2010 07:17 AM
don't play into his hands , He has a habbit of making use of people and leaving them on the lurch, There are so many instances, where he has done this . Ranil you better handover the leadership to a person who is more cunning than him, Don't you see he is paving the way for that son of his
sanus Tuesday, 10 August 2010 07:08 AM
Poor Ranil Wicks doesnt know whether he is coming or whether his MPs are going!
harry Tuesday, 10 August 2010 06:52 AM
Never mind the constituition. The burning issue to the citizens is not the constituition but the cost of living and how to feed their family and makes end meet. Please address these issues that are more important at the moment in a bipartisan manner.
pokiri Tuesday, 10 August 2010 06:20 AM
These talks have been going for the past 60 years. Will there be any solutions for the future of the paradise.
Bambuwa Tuesday, 10 August 2010 06:17 AM
Ranil, you are going on your own and not as the UNP leader. No one in the UNP approves these discussions. Time to kick this man out from the majestic UNP.
Azeez Mustafa Tuesday, 10 August 2010 06:12 AM
Jokes come in different formats !
Ranil Tuesday, 10 August 2010 06:12 AM
What is the topic this time? Constitutional reforms.
It is time Ranil realises that whatever the reforms may be, he will continue to be the opposition leader.
On the other hand, whatever the reforms may be, MR will be the leader of the country either as President now, or after reforms as Prime minister.
When in our land any leader agreed to do reforms in the benefit of the country?????answer is NEVER.
For personal benefit: Always
arshad Tuesday, 10 August 2010 06:01 AM
We have to look at this with an open mind.
pusa Tuesday, 10 August 2010 05:57 AM
After this round of discussion required 4 unp mps will cross over.
Ranil can keep his democracy in his mind. MR will keep his political power.
sujeeva Tuesday, 10 August 2010 05:50 AM
Ranil is continuing the talks for his own survival to keep the party reforms issue at bay. MR is taking advantage...it's so obvious. Both need each other for thir own selfish agendas.
