Public holiday tomorrow

The government has declared tomorrow (June 18) a special public holiday to mark the Victory Day commemoration, the government information department announced a short while ago.

Labour Minister Gamini Lokuge has also requested all public and private corporations to provide a holiday to their employees tomorrow to mark the Victory Day celebrations.

The Victory Day Celebrations are scheduled to be held tomorrow at the Galle Face Green.

    If private sector is given a holiday, who will work (because actual working force is in private sector). Government knows most of the government servants are not working even on working days, So giving them a holiday, will not affect the country much or economy comparing to giving a national holiday.

    What about the mercantile sector? It is better if it is declared a National holiday rather a public holiday
