The Fort Chief Magistrate today ordered the police to investigate the type of weapon recovered in the vehicle of former UNP candidate and journalist Susil Kindelpitiya who is in remand over a complaint lodged by a woman just before the recent General Elections.
The Magistrate wants the police to probe if the weapons is automatic or manual, the result of which will assist the judge in deciding if to offer bail to Kindelpitiya or not.
The weapon was found in Kindelpitiya’s vehicle at the time he was arrested. The woman who had lodged the complaint had said that she was threatened with the weapon by Kindelpitiya.
