Police Headquarters today launched an investigation into the incident where police officers attached to the Kattankudi Police Station were allegedly forced to kneel in the presence of a senior police officer last Saturday, acting police spokesman Ajith Rohana said.

He said the investigation was being carried out on the direction of the Police Chief.

Eastern Province DIG Pujitha Jayasundara in a statement concerning the incident said that he conducted special lecture on bribery at the Kattankudi police auditorium and denied that any police officers were forced to kneel during the lecture.
