Over 1000 prisoners were pardoned by President Mahinda Rajapaksa today. According to authorities 1312 inmates from prisons around the country were set free today.
Of those released 37 are female prisoners.
A majority of inmates who were released were in prison for being unable to pay fines imposed on them by the courts and inmates who are more than 70 years old. (Daily Mirror online)

I am sure MR did not have a clue about what tomorrow is going to be for these people, not everyone has a place to go or to welcome them I am so sure most of these people will turn up at the gates where they left yesterday for a meal and for a sound sleep, take my word
