President Mahinda Rajapaksa has instructed the Sports Ministry to utilise the monies that were to be used to organise musical shows in Kandy and Hambantota for flood relief. The shows were to be organised as fringe events for the Cricket World Cup.

This has does not relate to musical shows organised by private radio and TV stations and applies only to those organised by the Sports Ministry,” Director General of President’s Media Banduala Jayasekera told the Daily Mirror.
