President Mahinda Rajapaksa returned to the island early this morning after a private visit to the United States. When the Daily Mirror inquired from the President’s spokesperson Bandula Jayasekera he confirmed that the President had retuned after a week long stay in the US.

Minister of External Affairs Prof. G.L. Peiris, who accompanied the President to the US, also returned to the island last evening, according to External Affairs Ministry sources.

The UNP had earlier demanded that the Government reveal the truth behind the President’s mysterious visit to the US. (DS)

David mind your words,, dont say if you are really a good singhala man with love and mercy what your jesus teaches you ,,pls dont ask tamil or your people to begether and work,,just work on it,,still you are in begging place to your people,,dont simply drage a sociaty if you have some business problum with few individuals of a comunity,,

I have mentioned in the past that using China for Srilanka's political game is over. China's economy is depending on Europe and North America. Obama's adminstration knows how to tame China. China will be in big trouble in 3 to 5 years time. Srilanka need USA and Europe very badly. Richard Armatigae was sent to Srilanka with purpose and it worked. If we can use this opportuniy we can beat China. We Singhalese,Tamils should work together as brothers and sisters. Muslims forget it. They will jump any side for bennifits. They are not faithful humans. Their brain need big adjustment.We live only once. Have fun during this time. We dodn't take any thing with us when we say good by.

Have lots fun in a good way and enjoy your life. Life is short.

He was there in an advisory capacity

Whether private or official it should not be our concern. Why can't the Head of the State take a Minister on a private visit? Well we should not point out petty things and let the west to laugh on us. In terms of expenditure i will be having some concerns.

This is not a private visit, according some website this is an official visit, otherwise why G. L. Peiris has gone along with MR. Is he has any personal relationship with MR. If this is private visit any other government official can not go along with MR. Something behind this visit and government should reveal the truth behind the President’s mysterious visit to the US.
