Former SLFP Mahajana Wing Leader Mangala Samaraweera who joined the UNP recently is likely to be given a senior post in the party, UNP sources told Daily Mirror online.
Sources added that Mangala’s post is expected to be finalized once the UNP completes its reforms process.
“The UNP reforms are currently underway. It is only once this is done that Mangala might get a senior post within the party which will allow him to go to his electorate and work for his people,” sources said.
Samaraweera was officially sworn in as a UNP member on Friday after he dissolved the SLFP Mahajana Wing to which he was the leader, earlier last week. (Daily Mirror online)

He is very capable leader and would have been the leader of SLFP after MR if he stayed that side. Need to treat him well

Recommended for the post of national organizer. The best replacement for the vacancy of SB. The best friend of SB during Chandrika's era.

He has ruined many individuals and parties. He was the only person missing from the ranil clan and now he is on board. UNP will be deteriorating more for sure. Malik, Ranil, Mangala, Sagala - nice partnership.
malkanthi Tuesday, 10 August 2010 04:34 AM
He was never a popular guy! UNP only concentrating in reforming and various unnecessary issues, while main party is grabbing all powers by hook or crook!
kassa Tuesday, 10 August 2010 04:32 AM
