Police arrest over 10,000 suspects on warrants

The surrender of Julampitiye Amare who was accused of attacking a JVP rally in which two persons were killed last month has led to the arrest of 10,648 suspects against whom arrest warrants had been issued.

The Police Headquarters said the raids were carried out in Anuradhapura, Ampara, Puttalam, Polonnaruwa, Kilinochchi, Panadura, Negombo, Kelaniya, Mount Lavinia, Kalutara, Gampaha  and Colombo areas during the past 21 days.(Supun Dias)

    why not include hambantota in the list...if julampitiye amare were not surrenders then all other criminals will be still on the run...and our police also openly agreeing that...
