PM appoints committee to look into HNDA attack

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has appointed a special committee to look into the attack on the HNDA students by the police at Ward Place, Colombo7 last Thursday.

A spokesman from the Prime Minister’s office told Daily Mirror that Power and Renewable Energy Ministry Secretary Dr. B. M. S Batagoda will chair the special five member committee.

The committee is expected to tart functioning within this week as the Prime Minister had asked for an immediate report. (Yohan Perera)

    These committees or commissions have no significant result and use only to hoodwink the masses. In a good governance, a protest of such nature by young students should be dealt with much care. Post mortems are quite unnecessary. Minister should advise the police how to deal them in future.
