I spent my weekend in hill country and a full evening down under the bush and in the creek. To my horror I found millions of mosquito larvae in between stagnant waters in the middle of small rocks after the recent downpour just less than couple of yards. Nobody seems care and funny faces when I raise the issue.
My first thought was to spray salt water but I feared it might affect the fishes and the eco system.

‘Dengue Prevention Week’ without PHIs? Huh?

Stagnant water in the drains of Colombo North are full of mosquito larvae. PHI's should look into those rather than blindly passing them along the roads and go to houses to check water in tonic lids or shells of snails. Also they should inform the residents to cut branches of their trees if leaves fall into the gutters of neighbor's roofs and clog down the pipes.
