PC polls: 20% turnout so far

Declaring a voter turnout of 20% by 11 am today, election monitors said the election in the two provinces has been peaceful so far.

“Voter turnout was recorded at 20 per cent by 11.00 this morning. We hope the turnout would increase gradually. Apart from a few incidents reported, the election is peaceful,” Local election watchdog PAFFREL said.

By 11 am voter turnout was 18% in Colombo, 20% in Gampaha, 18% in Kalutara, 20% in Galle, 21% in Matara and 25% in Hambantota.

Sadly many have not received polling cards and even there name omitted from the polling books.....and they call it free & fair elections......
