A police constable was injured when a Sub Inspector’s pistol was accidently triggered when they were attempting to arrest a speeding three-wheel driver who refused to stop when asked to do so at Neluwa last night.
Police said the incident took place when the two police officers who had followed the speeding three-wheeler had managed to stop it and were grappling with the driver when the SI’s pistol was triggered injuring the PC.
The PC was admitted to the Karapitiya Hospital and the driver arrested.(DS)
