Paul German psychic Octopus is retiring after predicting successfully Spain will win the Football World Cup 2010.

The Sea Life Oberhausen aquarium’s spokeswoman Tanja Munzig told AP Television News Monday that the intuitive invertebrate will “go into retirement and do what he likes to do best: play with his handlers and delight children who come visit to him.”

Paul won worldwide attention as he called all of Germany’s games right — including its semifinal defeat by Spain. He crowned his career by forecasting correctly that Spain would beat Holland in Sunday’s final. (X News)

What a grand way to retire! Its a pity one cannot say the same thing about those two-legged astrologers dotting all over the place.

Rajaho Maho Tuesday, 13 July 2010 09:27 AM

In retirement, Paul the Octopus will tour the world giving free advice to astrologers on how to improve their act. But he dare not come to Sri Lanka, the land like no other.

    Abdul Tuesday, 13 July 2010 03:35 AM

I think this is absurd, it had got Spain, Germany Euro Final wrong in 2008, so what is the big fuss. it has a success rate of 70%. Come'on we have better things to worry about
