The passport of the former Deputy Minister Nishantha Muthuhettigama had been released by the Baddegama Magistrate Chandima Edirimanna for a period of one month allowing him to go out of the country for medical treatment, the Baddegama Police said.

However, the Baddegama Police had recorded a statement from him at the court premises.

The former Deputy Minister, who left for Singapore after having a warrant issued for arrest was arrested by a special CID team upon his return to the country at the Bandaranaike International Airport, Katunayake on December 28, 2014.

The warrant has been issued to arrest Deputy Minister Nishantha Muthuhettigama and his driver for allegedly setting fire to a stage in Wanduramba, Galle, where presidential candidate Maithripala Sirsena’s rally was to be held.  (D.G. Sugathapala)

Please make arrangements to check if he is mentally stable before he leaves the country, otherwise Si Lanka will have to take the responsibility,if he set fire to some building in Singapore.

Again we see another politician being seen to be let off the hook !!!! This is a person who used force to release his man from a Police station and is involved in the setting fire to MY3 election rally stage. Why not just lock these guys up and throw away the keys ? This is getting ridiculous. They will be showing their MIDDLE FINGERS at all of us now.

What is the ailment and is there no treatment in Sri Lanka. He must be going to Singapore for money laundering deals. CID must follow him with the help of Singapore police and track him down.
