Palpita appointed new TRC head

Director of the Government Information Department, Anusha Palpita has been appointed as the new Director General for the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC). When contacted by Daily Mirror online Mr. Palpita said that he had heard of his new appointment but was not officially notified as yet.

It is still unclear whether he will continue as the Director of the Government Information Department after his new appointment. Palpita said that whether or not he continues will be decided by the Government. (GS)

    Government Information Department has been used by respective governments just for pro government propaganda. Seems like this guy has done good job during last elections. MR please put capable people for important positions.

    What does he know about telecoms / telecom regulation? After Prof. Rohan Samarajeewa left, it has been one political appointment after another all of whom have been clueless on what telecom regulation is!

    Muditha, why do you say this guy is not capable. He is a senior public servant with overseas postgraduate qualifications. I think he can do a better job than most of political appointees.
