Are we seeing the turning point ?

    Monday, 03 May 2010 11:20 AM

WE WANT ARMY GENERAL BACK.... NOT THE POLITICIAN PLEASE....

    Monday, 03 May 2010 11:17 AM

True he commanded the army and did a great service to win the war but what most people forget or trying to hide is that it is the President who took the initiative and stood firm and gave the leadership to the war. And also some people are trying to hide that field commanders who were in the forefront of the battlefield with their brave soldiers more heroic than bosses who went through maps being at their offices or at their homes. Further, what about our great Navy and Air force without whose untiring and crucial and dedicated service finishing the war wouldn't have been seen so early.

    Monday, 03 May 2010 11:15 AM

Well said Christine......Hope sanity prevails for the good of all Sri Lanka. I am sure the President who is a kind hearted person will see the futility of this exercise and find a way to end it all......

    Monday, 03 May 2010 11:11 AM

Hero's week is starting from 12 May for one week, without the real hero!! What kind of a country is this??? my vehicle, my petrol??

    Monday, 03 May 2010 10:55 AM

People have spoken at the last two elections. The good General dug a big hole for himself. He is his own enemy. We remember what he said and what he did not say. Everything is in record.

    Monday, 03 May 2010 10:47 AM

Does anyone who make comments here know what the true story of general's imprisonment/detention? or just reacting to what everybody else is saying and doing? Nature takes its own way to resolve matters. In time we will all see what the truth is. God help Sri lanka n Our innocent people

    Monday, 03 May 2010 10:46 AM

Jai Ho to the Judicial System of Sri Lanka....

    Monday, 03 May 2010 10:39 AM

Waiting to see the end of this drama !

    Monday, 03 May 2010 10:35 AM

Hats off to the hero who really defeated LTTE

But with out a doubt if he has got any bad qualities he should shed them now other wise there wont be a difference or a motive for a change ..

Dont worry General we are with you ..

    Monday, 03 May 2010 10:34 AM

    Hope True Justice will prevail

    Monday, 03 May 2010 10:33 AM

Well said Christine, the man who risked his life and fought the war is inside, whereas the people who were inside the A/c room are celebrating.

    Monday, 03 May 2010 10:31 AM

while politicians celebrate victory day, real hero is detained !!! we should be ashamed as a nation !!

    Monday, 03 May 2010 10:29 AM

    Dear Pushpa,
We still treat him as a hero ! Its not the "people" who wants him behind bars. If general wanted more, why not ? Does it say anywhere only "some" people can have "more" ?

    Monday, 03 May 2010 09:53 AM

    Bravo Bravo
    Good luck General!

    Monday, 03 May 2010 10:27 AM

General is fully awake dont worry about him... I hope those who are put to sleep with lies and sweet talk would wake up to reality... you keep your feet up and enjoy the peace brought on by General's efforts... and remain in your blissfully ignorant world....

    Monday, 03 May 2010 10:27 AM

I hope all SF loyalists will have no option than to grudgingly accept that democracy of the courts system really works under this Govt. Unlike during the times of JRJ the master fox of UNP, between 77 - 94.

    Monday, 03 May 2010 10:22 AM

    Ya, Ya, Ya ....
He could have joined ruling party instead.
If so, where he would be now is any body's guess.

This is the fate of this country, we have to accept and live !

    Monday, 03 May 2010 10:16 AM

God bless you general. NO one can hurt u

    Monday, 03 May 2010 10:16 AM

Brawo General Brawo ....... Still im saluting you.

    Monday, 03 May 2010 10:15 AM

This is just breathing space. Ex General will still have to prove his innocence, which is not going to be like riding the shotgun.

    Monday, 03 May 2010 10:14 AM

    All the Best Sir!!!
Sri Lanka never forgets her Brave Sons!!!!!

    Monday, 03 May 2010 10:11 AM

At least now I hope the good General will wake up for himself.
He could have easily retired like a gentleman and put his feet up and enjoyed life happily ever after. But no, he wanted more. People would have garlanded him with flowers and treated him as a hero wherever he went in this beautiful island. But now, if he goes out anywhere, what people are going to throw at him is anybody's guess.

    Monday, 03 May 2010 10:11 AM

Release the General without delay. They are all getting ready to celebrate victory day and the person who made it all happen in behind bars. What a travesty.!!!!

    Monday, 03 May 2010 10:09 AM

Fabricate court marshal case should be suspended forever.

    Monday, 03 May 2010 10:09 AM

    Suba Anagathayak!

    Monday, 03 May 2010 10:06 AM

The learned Judges of the Appeals Court should order the disbanding of the Court Martial and release Gen. S.F. as a Hero who has been detained unlawfully.
