Opposition Leader Ranil Wickramasinghe today complained to the Speaker that several opposition MPs, including UNP MP Ravi Karunanayake were to be questioned by the Criminal Investigations Department regarding some statements made in Parliament. (YP)

But the point is that even the court of law can not do any thing to things said in the parliament by its MP. It is a Parliamentary Privileges ensured by the constitution.

If the statements warrant investigation then this should be looked into. If these statements are harmless then why worry ?
