One killed and 5 injured

One person was killed and five others were injured including three policemen when a jeep providing security to IGP Mahinda Balsuriya’s wife, Mrs. Asha Balasuriya crashed into a shop in Sannasgama, Pelmadulla after colliding with a motorbike this evening.

The motorcyclist died on the spot while the others were admitted to the Ratnapura General Hospital by the residents in the area.

The victim was a resident of Pelmadulla. The Ratnapura police are investigating into the incident. (Ajith Lal Shanthaudaya)
