One killed, 23 injured in head-on collision

One person was killed and 23 people injured when a van traveling from Batticaloa to Kalmunai collided head on with a cab travelling from Ampara to Batticaloa on the Batticaloa-Kalmunai Road early today, police said.

About 23 passengers including 15 people who were travelling in the van were admitted to the Batticaloa Hospital and the driver of the van was dead on admission to the hospital.
