Police Commission to investigate attack on students

The National Police Commission (NPC) has decided to launch an investigation into the police attack on the students of the Higher Diploma in Accountancy while they were on a protest march on Thursday.

Commission Secretary Ariyadasa Cooray said an independent investigator would be appointed after having discussions with senior police officers with regard to the investigations.

    It appears that this incident is the result of a deliberate sabotage action taken by the Police in collaboration with Higher Education Ministry officials. Even the Minister is responsible.
