The Department of Elections has decided to impose a strict ban on the media taking photographs or videoing people casting their votes especially VIPs during the General Elections next week in line with existing election laws.  (KB)

    What do they mean by 'strict' ban ? Were the others mild bans?
    Anyway let's see if this ban applies to Mahinda Rajapakse. If it doesn't, then either the ban is not 'strict' or the President is not a VIP.
