Nishantha Ranathunga the current secretary of Sri Lankan Cricket handed over his nominations today, to the post of secretary as an independent candidate.

Speaking to Daily Mirror online, Ranathunga said the purpose of him seeking renomination to the board was to continue with the development  that has been carried out thus far by SLC.

The purpose of my re-nomination to the board is to continue with the development work we have started at the board to make sure we achieve higher standards as a cricketing nation” he told Daily Mirror.

Nominations for board elections will be closed today. Earlier Thilanga Sumathapila filed nominations for a team which did not include a secretary. It is yet uncertain if the incumbent President Jayantha Dharmadasa would contest the elections. (H.F)
