Nine suspects have been arrested in connection with the shooting incident in Beruwala yesterday where a seven year old boywas killed in crossfire between the Police and a group of armed robbers

Police Spokesman SP Prishantha Jayakody told Daily Mirror online the nine suspects include five policemen and four civilians. The shooting occurred at the Beruwala Food city. The child was in a three wheeler with his father when he was accidentally shot.

The father was also injured in the shootout and the child died on admission to the Kalurata hospital. The robbers managed to flee the scene. (Daily Mirror online)
