Senior DIG N.K. Illangakoon was sworn in as the new IGP a short while ago at a ceremony held at the Police Headquarters.

The new IGP while assuming duties had stated that securing a stable relationship between the police and the public is one of his main objectives. (SD)

Well Sir, sorry for being negative. But almost all past IGP's as I have heard was highlighting the the very same objective at their first day of duty. But it was from bad to worst as we have experienced. If you had not mentioned this, but proven during your stay, you would be a person to remember. But you have a long way to go.
