Navy personnel killed in road accident

Two navy officials were killed following an accident with a container vehicle in Karuwalagaswewa area in Puttalam this morning, police said.

The victims were identified as Commander Priyantha and Lieutenant Commander Kaluthanthri by the navy.

The accident had occurred while the victims were traveling from Punewa Navy camp to Colombo while the container was heading from Colombo to Jaffna, police said. (Jude Samantha) (Pix by Hiran Priyankara jayasinghe)

    Army, Please someone tell the "officials" of the forces that the war is over and they can slow down and travel at safe speeds so that they could save lives of theirs and others.

    most of container drivers not consider about the rules and regulations.

    You cannot conclude who was at fault by looking at the pictures. The pictures show where the vehicles stopped after the collision, not where they were at the time of the collision.

    the same place when i was cought on speeding, one Navy vechile was speeding, when i asked the police, speed limit is not applicable to tru forces they said. now see wht happend

    Couple of weeks ago high ranking army officer was also killed in the same area. Something should be done to discipline these drivers from armed forces.
