My car taken away by police says Raththaran

The Southern Provincial Councillor, Chrisantha Pushpakumara, alias Raththaran, had lodged a complaint claiming that his car had been taken away by the Kurunegala Police, who seemed to be under the impression that it belonged to the Presidential Secretariat after he left it at a garage in Kurunegala to be repaired.

He said that he had taken his car to a garage in Kurunegala because vehicle parts were readily available there. When he went back to the garage, he had been informed by the garage owner that ten vehicles, including his car, had been taken away by the police.

Pushpakumara complained that his car had been taken away without even checking with the Department of Motor Vehicles about the owner of the vehicle although he was using it with its original number plates and said that this vehicle, a Toyota Hilux cab, was his private vehicle which he had obtained on lease from a leasing company.

He was going to complain about this matter to the Police Head Quarters in Colombo. (Amila Madushanka)

What an idiot talk/reason, he means there is no garages in Galle or Colombo for spare parts to be readily available, even Kurunegala has to get parts through Colombo as well all the exclusive (hibride etc...) vehicle parts are totally in Colombo, he is talking about a "Toyota Hilux cab" a normal vehicle for which any small garage in Galle/Matara will have ample spare parts, Toyota spares a freely available,so there is no reason to be in K-gala and to consider 10 vehicles from that garage only to be taken off by police???? he is off his head as usual to be stupid, and it is a ???????

Mate, It is just an attempt to get away from the problem by putting the blame on a Leasing Company. Now it is time for Police to catch the Leasing Company and get details. .

It may have been a part not readily available anywhere else, most suppliers promise to get it within a certain time (maybe 2-3 weeks) once you place the order with them, with no guarantee on the time frame. You figure it out whether you can afford to be without your car for that long, unless you have a fleet in your garage.

why not police check with RMV and find out the real owner of the vehicle. Reparing his vehicle in jaffna or matara is the vehicle owners wish. nobody cant question about that via DM Android App
