President Mahinda Rajapaksa has advised authorities to release all Indian Fishermen in Sri Lankan custody, President's media announced today.

India abstained from voting for the US-backed resolution at the 25th session of the UNHRC in Geneva against Sri Lanka yesterday claiming that an external investigation mechanism hinders the efforts of the Sri Lanka to promote reconciliation rather than contributing constructively and complicates the prevalent situation in the country.

Spokesman Mohan Samaranayake said President Mahinda Rajapaksa ordered the release of all Indian fishermen "as a gesture of good will in response to India's stance" at the U.N. Human Rights Council meeting in Geneva.

Seventy-four Indian fishermen are held in Sri Lanka.
Does this mean that Indian fisherman can just come into our waters and catch our fish now onwards? So all this time issue wasn't really breaking fishing boundaries rather it was an issue of voting against SL at UN?
This is how MR controls Jayalalitha! Now she wont bark at Manmohan for doing this..

Santhosam for abstaining. Never mind it will strengthen the hands of Congress and its allies in Tamil Nadu. Jaya Amma cannot ride on innocent fishermen anymore. She'll have to look for something in Andaman Islands. via DM iPad app
