Because she was an ex-President and no power can delete that. No Leader can be free of hate and disagreement, so needs security for survival. Remember, unlike other Leaders She paid with the loss of her eye standing up to LTTE.

Why this much of security and officers with 21 vehicles on whose expenses for an individual who plundered the people and made them paupers? How he now dares to complain that he has not been provided with security while he let the honest woman president in the lurch on her decent retirement not like him reluctant to leave, and left with heavy heart since there was no option. He is human others are inhuman.
