President Mahinda Rajapaksa phoned leader of the opposition Ranil Wickremesinghe early this morning and congratulated him on his re-election as the UNP leader.

The President had also wished Wickremesinghe for his 62nd birthday, which falls today, Presidential Spokesperson Bandula Jayasekara told the Daily Mirror. (DS)
