It's very sad ,that nothing is changing in the country ,but minsters convoys getting longer and longer with vehicles

    perumal Thursday, 03 February 2011 01:56 AM

    Lucky woman!

    Ismail A Azeez Thursday, 03 February 2011 01:58 AM

This adds fuel to burning disasters in the country. Are rules for high speed and reckless driving only for the rest?

    superFonseka Thursday, 03 February 2011 02:40 AM

sincerely hope something nasty happens to such a convoy....

    Ranjith Thursday, 03 February 2011 02:51 AM

In Talawakele, what zebra crossing you are talking about? Why do not you tell Ministers to adhere to road rules specially the speed limits

    S. Aran Johnny Thursday, 03 February 2011 03:15 AM

Apparently they are trying to revive the dead lady so that they could arrest her for coming in the way of the innocent minister.

    human Thursday, 03 February 2011 03:20 AM

    rest in peace

    meranchi Thursday, 03 February 2011 03:24 AM

doesn't matter minister or who els human life are precious drive ride excessive speed should not except driver must be punish and compensation for the family must......?

    lankaman Thursday, 03 February 2011 03:26 AM

it is very common these security of ministers get the ministerial ego into their heads also. once they get into a minister's security vehicle they think all other humans on roads are lesser beings

    cracko Thursday, 03 February 2011 01:51 AM

The minister should be remanded just as ordinary motorist on the road would be under the circumstances.

    Ashoks Thursday, 03 February 2011 03:55 AM

Now no more LTTE, Whom they are afraid of?

    sobers Thursday, 03 February 2011 04:03 AM

The long & expensive conveys can be very much minimised as the security situation is very much better. Now it has become only a show piece and waste of public funds.

knight rider Thursday, 03 February 2011 04:04 AM

the saga continues and no one does anything about it... one law for the VIP's another law for the Civilian....

    robinson Thursday, 03 February 2011 04:14 AM

Of course convoys should be there for ministers. But they should know when and where to control the speed, I hope the GOSL will take some corrective actions to prevent such unfortunate incidents. They should not do reckless and careless driving.

    paul Thursday, 03 February 2011 04:35 AM

Earlier they needed convoys to protect them from the LTTE, now they need the convoys to protect them from the people!

Miracle of Asia. This statement irritates patriots.

    KHKaru Wednesday, 02 February 2011 04:23 PM

The Govt. must consider giving choppers to Ministers and MP s instead of Pajero s and Land Cruiser s, for the safety of other road users.

Puran appu Wednesday, 02 February 2011 04:56 PM

cant the citizens of this country stand up to stop this nonsense or are they waiting till they are also run over???

Minister was the cause. He must be arrested

    Anemagekata Thursday, 03 February 2011 12:41 AM

Its the womans fault. Pedestrians are supposed to jump into the drains when a ministerial convoy approaches.

After all the ministers got so much work to help the Sri Lankans they have no time to waste on roads, and have to travel at lightening speeds.

    mnsmart Thursday, 03 February 2011 12:57 AM

    This is sad.
pedestrians too should be aware of proper use of roads and zebra crossing.

    Anver Thursday, 03 February 2011 01:00 AM

Its time to ban all ministerial processions. In the West the ministers travel about without any fuss and they have more important work to do than our fellows here.

    C.K. Lankaputhra Thursday, 03 February 2011 01:17 AM

No instructions to police. Thats all about it.

    C.K. Lankaputhra Thursday, 03 February 2011 01:21 AM

No orders to Police from top. That all about it.

    Cobra Thursday, 03 February 2011 01:38 AM

How many more people will have to die before this comedy of ministerial security convoys end?????
