Military protection for the media

The military has been deployed to provide security for media organizations and their resources that are under threat, military spokesperson Brig. Udaya Nanayakkara told Daily Mirror online this morning.


"Media institutions are under threat of sabotage by certain elements. Almost all media institutions are guarded," Brig. Nanayakara said.


However he denied reports that the Cinnamon Lakeside Hotel where the opposition politicians are staying was heavily guarded by the military.
