Medium rain showers could be experienced in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central Provinces and the Galle and Matara Districts today and coming few day, the Meteorological Department told Daily Mirror online
Speaking to Daily Mirror online Meteorologist in Charge, D Jayasingharachchi said that fairly strong winds will also affect the Southwestern part of the island particularly the western slopes of the central hills.
He added that these conditions were evident as a result of the Southwest Monsoon and that no heavy rainfall was expected up to now.
The Southwestern Coastal areas of the island will are also likely to experience winds speeds up to 20-40 Kph while they may increase up to 50 Kph in the Gulf of Mannar and the Southeastern coast, Jayasingharachchi added. (Daily Mirror online)
