The meeting between President Maithripala Sirisena and former president Mahinda Rajapaksa would only be limited to party level discussions and would be held without damaging the trust vested in the President by 6.3 million people, the President’s Media Division said today.

“Meetings of this nature are not strange to the President because he is also the Chairman of Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP). The objective of this meeting is to strengthen the SLFP and no issue related to the actions of the government will be discussed during it,” it said.

The meeting is scheduled to be held today at the President’s Office in the Parliament at 1.30 p.m.

6.3 million people trusted you and voted you mr.president. therefore please do not betray the people again. If so you will loose in next election. Because country people hate pawil paksa corruption and his family to be linked with present government for any chances. we have more holes in the previous king cancer regime.. so we need to cure all, so if we bring the smell again to the pure government which presently running on, again the entire present government will smell again. so people are very carefully focusing on this Mr. President

it is good that the dialogue was restricted only to one agenda without damaging the trust 6.2 people kept on H.E. The President. Let the SLFP get strengthened but the President should not keep any room for the Former President to raise his Head again as my two colleague has stated above
