The maiden trip of the Matara to Fort express train (Ruhunu Kumari) with the newly imported Indian power set train of Class S11 was delayed for more than an hour this morning due to a mechanical problem.

The problem occurred when the train was passing Hikkaduwa around 7.25am today.

The mechanical problem which occurred in the engine was fixed by the onboard Railway officials and the train recommenced its journey to the Colombo Fort. (Dayasiril Dammika)
