Former LTTE Media Coordinator and Spokesman, Daya Master is now leading a new life as the Head of Operations of the Tamil satellite television channel Dan Tv which has a regional studio in Kokuvil, Jaffna.

Speaking to Daily Mirror online from Jaffna Daya Master said that he was happy with his new life and was satisfied with the present peaceful situation in the area.

When questioned about his entry into the journalism field and if there was an improvement in media freedom in the north with the end of the war, Daya Master said that the media was free and the situation had improved. “The media is free now in Jaffna. It is all good hear,” he said.

When questioned on the whereabouts of former LTTE Translator George Master, Daya Master said that George Master was with his family and was not with him anymore. “George Master is looking after his father now I think. He is not with me anymore,” Daya Master said.

George Master and Daya Master were released on bail last year after they surrendered to the security forces in April 2009 while staying in an IDP camp in the Wanni. (Daily Mirror online)
