Three supporters of the Democratic People’s Front (WPF) were injured when a gang, allegedly shouting slogans of a senior government minister, attacked the campaign bus of WPF Leader Mano Ganeshan in Nawalapitiya a short while ago.

The injured have been rushed to a private hospital in Kandy.

Speaking to Daily Mirror Online, Ganeshan said that a group of 20 men armed with iron rods attacked the bus and tore down the posters of the WPF Leader.

Ganeshan said he will send a letter to the IGP later today, asking for a thorough investigation and will also inform the Nawalapitiya Police about the incident. (SD)

Reporting to the IGP won't have any result: just a waste of time. In the current culture of the country, the culprits need to be reciprocated in the same language they understand. We are following the election methods of our friends like Iran and Myanmar,
