What a awful way to die. This poor man was probably trying to eke out an existence cutting grass when he was dragged to his death. Wild life officials should post notices in all areas where there is such a danger.

Until recently, i worked in Pettah (2nd cross street). One day, believe it or not, a 'kabaragoya' entered our office from the street. We had a hard time getting it out of the building.

Take Care Monday, 30 January 2012 04:13 AM

I think we must take this seriously. Crocodiles in a civilians area is definitley not a good sign. Remember it was a group of crocodiles, not just one. The respective authorities must take firm actions to eradicate such situations, as Ratmalana is turning out to be high residential area.

The God Father Monday, 30 January 2012 04:28 AM

There should be proper inquiry and reports done to make sure that he was killed by crocodiles, can not just come to any conclusions.

May have been a "white" one. Never heard of crocodiles in Ragama. Since we have paddy fields there could be but then the question of cutting grass?

Bitter Truth Monday, 30 January 2012 05:01 AM

If our goverment authorities that vigilant, Srilanka would have been like Singapore by now. Unfortunately our guys are not that sharp (But few good dedicated workers you can find here and there).
Any way if there are crocodiles now, then its alarming!!!

    Rushdi Monday, 30 January 2012 05:25 AM

mervyn perera Monday, 30 January 2012 06:11 AM

Why cannot you put all these crocodiles into the Diyawanna Oya so that all these so called Parliamentarians can be eaten by these crocodiles. That would solve all our budgetary and financial problems facing the country.

    Answer E. Monday, 30 January 2012 06:59 AM

No one have to be blame on this accidental issue, I think the best thing to do is for the Government to eradicate crocodiles from humans reachout. The victim is gong, he would have tell the story much better if he was alive. May his soul rest in peace.
