Jathika Hela Urumaya (JHU) Gampaha District Organiser Madumadawa Aravinda resigned from party and joined the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) today.
He told a news conference that he would continue his political career with Gotabaya Rajapaksa and President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
“I will remain with the government which brought the war victory to the country,” he said.
Mr. Aravinda accused the Ven. Athuraiye Rathana Thera of ruining the political careers of Patali Champika Ranawaka and Udaya Gammanpila.
“Ven.Rathana Thera has formed the ‘Pivithuru Hetak” for his own political agenda. He is having discussions with the TNA and Mano Ganeshan and is keen to bring the two respected politicians Champika Ranawaka and Udaya Gammanipala to the same stage with them and do street politics,” Mr. Aravinda said.
He said there were 32 politicians in the JHU and most of them would follow his example in the future. (Ajith Siriwardana)

There is no point in helping the candidate who helped make the Executive Presidency, when nobody demanded it. It was made for selfish reasons and if it were to be abolished, it would have to be by a different party, not by the same lot.
