The department of meteorology has warned of severe lightning over the next two days as the country begins to experience heavy rain following days of drought. The public have been advised to take precautionary measures to minimize damage that could be caused from lightning strikes.
Showers or thunder showers are expected in most parts of the country over the next few days coupled with strong winds, the department of meteorology added. (Daily Mirror online)

So much electrical and electronic gadgets around, how people are going to switch off every time when it is thundering, watch out for lightning before thunder, that is the time to switch off! Try to live a life of simplicity without much electrical appliances, it is good for paying bills also. If you are hooked up with modern gadgets you may forget to keep alternatives ready. Oil lamps, fire wood stoves, mortar and pestle.
