I am a former employee at Sigiriya Village and visited this site frequently and don't think these type of Stones used those days. Kasiyapa used fire and water to cut the stones those days and but the damage Rock seems to be some kind of local stones where we built houses.

Its obvious what we see in Sigiriya today is not exactly what was there in ancient days. Its been told that there was a Lion's mouth and access to the palace was through the mouth and within the mountain stone. Well since we have no clue about the technology used, later kings and governments used bricks to rebuild it as they know it. This show how less advanced today's technology when it compared to the technology used to build those megalithic monuments those days. That knowledge and technology simply lost in the past.
