LGB to be dissolved on Jan 10th

The government decided to dissolve Local Government bodies on January 10th at a special UPFA meeting held at the Temple Trees today Chaired by President Mahinda Rajapaksa. The meeting was attended by all constituent party leaders of the government, a reliable source of the Government said.

It was speculated that polls to elect members to Municipal Councils, Urban Councils and Pradeshiya Sabas will be held on March 30th. (Sandun A. Jayasekera)
