LeN arson suspect arrested

The suspects known as “Buthya” (Ghost) wanted for the arson attack of news website LankaeNews on January 31st was taken into custody by the police, police spokesman SP Prishantha Jayakody told Daily Mirror online.

The suspect was arrested in Beruwela by a Special police team of the Nugegoda Police Division.

He added that the police were conducting further investigation into the matter and that the suspect was remanded till February 15th after being presented before the Kaduwela Magistrate.

Two suspects are now in police custody for the arson attack on the LankaeNews office in Malabe. Heavy damage was caused to the LeN office premises and its library.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa on the same day ordered the Police and the Ministry of Media and Mass Media and Communications to carry out a thorough investigation on the matter. (Daily Mirror online)
