The warning given of imminent landslides in Badulla, Nuwara Eliya, Matale, Kegalle, Kandy, Ratnapura and Kalutara Districts had been extended for 24 hours more from 5.30.p.m today (2).
The National Building Research Organisation said that it had deployed several special teams to monitor the situation in the Badulla and Nuwara Eliya Districts.
The senior geologist of the NBRO, Gamini Jayatissa said that it was the responsibility of the people to accept the relief measures such as lands offered by the government for evacuation from vulnerable areas.
