Just because it is a gift does not mean it should go without a proper quarantine test and procedure as these are not endemic animals to Korea. Maybe it is ill on account of the weather conditions in Korea and could well be bringing diseases with it.

Exactly baby.. I too raise the same concern.. Even a lion gifted from other country is sent to Hambantota to please the royal family

Personally i'm not a big fan of zoo's for the simple reason that the animals are locked up in small enclousures. i think it's cruel. I prefer the national parks where the animals can roam around more freely.
Justice Seeker Friday, 10 May 2013 03:39 AM
Just nurture it as a tame animal, so it behaves tamely like they do in other countries from small ones. People are allowed to touch and play with it..

Another Lion sent i in to captivity , given a life sentence , in a far off island . What crime did this animal commit ? Or did he fit into the catergory of a future terrorist !
harry Thursday, 09 May 2013 09:53 PM
Please stop this nonsense of "GIFTING" other's souls. This is cruel and please think of animals who too have brains and feel deprivation especially having been separated from their loved ones.

DHA Thursday, 09 May 2013 06:26 PM
Do we have to pay for this too ????
Nirmal Fernando Thursday, 09 May 2013 06:01 PM
Don't let the lion settled in Hambantota. The lion will be bored without people coming to see, just like the Airport.
baby Thursday, 09 May 2013 04:57 PM
Even the lion is for Hambantota..? what's wrong with this country..??
toosh Thursday, 09 May 2013 04:34 PM
The Korean lion is not seems to be that much of ferocious than our own lions in Sri Lanka. Therefore, it should be kept far away from Colombo like the location.
