The Army claimed that the suspect, who fired at the Police at Dharmapuram in Kilinochchi yesterday when they attempted to arrest him, had LTTE connections.

“Investigations revealed that the suspect had LTTE connections. The police are on the lookout to arrest him with army assistance if necessary,” Army spokesman Ruwan Wangasooriya said.

A police officer was injured when the man fired at the police and managed to escape.
